We will meet at Praça do Rossio at 19:00, and from there we will start the tour to Mouraria, one of Lisboa’s most traditional neighbourhoods known for being the birthplace of Fado. There we will visit the Rua do Capelao, Mouraria’s own particular Walk of Fame, where we will see a photographic exhibition in homage to the most popular fadistas, including Amalia Rodrigues. Then we will head towards one of the most charming squares in the neighbourhood, Largo da Severa, where you will discover the first fado singer, Maria Severa.
For an hour and a quarter we will wander through the narrow streets of the neighbourhood, stopping to admire its labyrinthine Arab-style streets and the typical houses. We will also stop to talk about the murals that decorate the corners of Mouraria, a European reference of Urban Art.
After this tour we will head to the restaurant, where we will immerse ourselves for an hour in the most Lisbon atmosphere, and enjoy a tasting of two drinks and a cheese board while attending a live Fado performance.
